I thought that was a Mexican plate for a second as they have a similar format in a lot of states.

I had no idea Native tribes could have their own licence plates. Really, it makes sense considering the autonomy they have, but it’s still weird to see.

There are two  Indian reservations new me, on directly adjacent to my town on the east(Bad River) and the other about 30 miles north (Red Cliff) These are their plates

This is apparently a tribe in Virginia, and I live in Georgia. Google search has no pictures of this plate. I’ve never seen this before (until yesterday).
